John MulderJohn Mulder began as an A/C installer’s helper in 1987. He advanced rapidly from helper to lead installer to lead service technician. John then took a position as electricians apprentice in order to become familiar with the electrical trade. As he progressed through the various building trades, he gained invaluable knowledge and experience. After passing his Mechanical Contractors License with the state of Florida, John realized his dream to be a contractor by forming Bay Area Heating & Cooling.
Shaile R MulderAfter graduating high school Shaile Mulder began work with Harvest Builders, Inc. where she was introduced to the construction industry. As a receptionist, Shaile learned the ins and outs of business to business sales, contract negotiations and customer service.
After the owners of Harvest Builders, Inc. closed their doors & relocated to North Carolina, Shaile was offered a position by Air Conditioned Systems as an inside sales representative. It was during this time she was trained on the importance of HVAC system maintenance and how to communicate it to her customers. This is also where Shaile met John Mulder.
After a few years, Shaile began looking for a new challenge and was subsequently hired by Sears Repair Center. Her first position held at Sears invloved dealing with the public and included receiving goods purchased by the customer that needed repair. After a short time, Shaile was promoted to the Routing Department where her main function was routing service calls to both inside and outside technicians in a territory that stretched from North Pinellas County to Southern Manatee. This job required constant communication between team members in her department, and the technicians all the while maintaining a customer first attitude.
After a couple of years at Sears, Shaile decided to take some time off to take care of a growing family and go back to school at St. Petersburg College (SPC).
While still attending classes at SPC, Shaile began working for Xerox Corporation as an inside sales representative. At Xerox, Shaile was able to fine tune her sales expertise with the help of some of the top sales training offered by any Fortune 500 Company. Shaile dealt extensively with multi-million dollar companies, both for and not-for profit agencies, and in two years grew her territory in new & retained business more than 50% . This achievment earned Shaile an award in 2000 as the highest achiever in the nation in the consumables market. At the request of the Catholic Diocese, Shaile became the sole liaison between the Dioceses & Xerox nationally for consumables.
In the beginning of 2002 Xerox Corporation began downsizing and Shaile's time at Xerox came to end. It was then that Shaile and John decided to join forces to realize their goal of owning their own business. Combining their resources of what they had learned individually over the past decade, and plenty of hard work, Shaile and John reached that goal by becoming owners of Bay Area Heating & Cooling, Inc.
